FOR TEACHERS

We are delighted to present you with informative interactive activities for your classroom. The Right Decisions Right Now program was originally developed to educate youth, grades 5-9, on tobacco use, but the materials have been updated to include nicotine use, as e-cigarette/vape use among middle and high school students has surpassed smoking as the most commonly used tobacco product since 2014. 3

This booklet “E-Cigarettes, E-Hookahs, Hookah Pens, Vape Pipes: Different Name, Same Problem” outlines the differences between regular cigarettes and e-cigarettes/vapes and discusses the health impacts of nicotine as a substance separate from tobacco.

Additionally, this E-cigarette Module focuses specifically on the risks associated with nicotine products such as e-cigarettes and vapes. These resources serve to augment the content and activities provided below.

Educators who have used Right Decisions Right Now have praised the program and the accompanying materials. Jim, a middle school teacher in Colorado, said: “The materials that are included with the program make the program ready to use.”
