To attain optimal results from the Right Decisions, Right Now: Be Tobacco Free program, and to effectively work towards the goal of keeping adolescents tobacco free, all of the activities in each grade booklet should be presented and completed with students in the sequence in which they are presented. The activities are designed to build one on another so that your students gain confidence and learn the skills they need to help them be tobacco free.

We have created checklists to help educators prepare and track their progress in using the program with students. There is one checklist for each corresponding grade booklet: Grades 5&6, Grade 7, and Grades 8&9. Each checklist follows the sequence of the grade booklet, and serves as a guide to steps educators should take before starting the program, followed by key instructional steps for implementing the activities, engaging students in class discussions, conducting the follow-up lessons, and integrating the posters and peripheral materials.

The checklists may be used by teachers as a self-assessment, or by administrators or colleagues observing the class to record the program implementation and evaluate teacher and student participation.
